Creating a communication log in TouchScan for Windows

Follow these instructions to create and send a communication log in TouchScan for Windows. You must follow the instructions exactly as stated for the log to be created correctly.
Creating a communication log for connection problems
- In TouchScan, click Help > Debugging from the main menu and check the “Enabled” checkbox.
- Try to connect to the scan tool.
- After the connection fails, click Help > Debugging from the main menu and click “Save Log”.
- Save the log file to a location on your computer, then email it to our service department. Please include a detailed description of the problem in your email.
Creating a communication log for dashboard or PID problems
- In TouchScan, click Help > Debugging from the main menu and check the “Enabled” checkbox.
- Connect to the scan tool and open the dashboard page that is causing the problem. If you are having trouble with a particular PID, make sure you have a gauge configured to read that PID and that gauge is on the active dashboard page.
- Click Help > Debugging from the main menu and click “Save Log”.
- Save the log file to a location on your computer, then email it to our service department. Please include a detailed description of the problem in your email.
