Creating a communication log in TouchScan for Windows

Follow these instructions to create and send a communication log in TouchScan for Windows. You must follow the instructions exactly as stated for the log to be created correctly.

Creating a communication log for connection problems

  1. In TouchScan, click Help > Debugging from the main menu and check the “Enabled” checkbox.
  2. Try to connect to the scan tool.
  3. After the connection fails, click Help > Debugging from the main menu and click “Save Log”.
  4. Save the log file to a location on your computer, then email it to our service department. Please include a detailed description of the problem in your email.

Creating a communication log for dashboard or PID problems

  1. In TouchScan, click Help > Debugging from the main menu and check the “Enabled” checkbox.
  2. Connect to the scan tool and open the dashboard page that is causing the problem. If you are having trouble with a particular PID, make sure you have a gauge configured to read that PID and that gauge is on the active dashboard page.
  3. Click Help > Debugging from the main menu and click “Save Log”.
  4. Save the log file to a location on your computer, then email it to our service department. Please include a detailed description of the problem in your email.
